The task was to extend a heritage-listed Carpenter Gothic-style building, originally a family home (ca. 1880), to accommodate a growing legal practice. Preserving the original charm, we expanded using a modern, minimal palette that complements the tall, narrow geometry. A glass corridor connects the old and new, where a concrete tilt slab and industrial metal cladding define the contemporary addition. Extensive glazing invites natural light and frames selected views of Nelson's inner city. The office is powered by an extensive PV solar array.
