Northbank Rock House

The intricate topography of this Blenheim site presented various design opportunities. Drawing inspiration from a prominent natural rock feature, we chose to position the building above the flood-prone plane.

The house is perched on the rock, creating a southern entrance elevation, while the rock's elevation adjacent to the entrance provides a glimpse of the surroundings. Upon entering, the house is elevated significantly above the river plane, unfolding into a cathedral-shaped roof.
